I would like to have a report that would show the total of the deposits for a month. You have the Deposit Detail Report but no total

You've come to the right place for help. I'll be happy to share more info on this so you can get back on track with doing what you love. 

Based on what you've described, you'll need to run a Deposit Detail Report and filter it by Transaction type. To do this, click on Reports on the left navigation menu, enter the report name in the search field and hit search. From here hit the Customize button, make sure the Transaction Type field is checked. I'll attach a screenshot below for reference.
