Question

Hi - has anyone had a bank feed balance not agree to the bank statement - client not reg user of feed but thought it would have caught up thanks? QB bank bal is good

Has your client selected the update button and what is the last updated date showing?

Thanks for your reply.

The bank feed was updated yesterday ..... I presume updated button was used (but I'm not sure)

I spotted the difference about a month ago but getting a new update and current bank statement at the same time is tricky as I had hoped the next download would fix and this is the second having had a further download done mid Dec but no bank statement to verify ..... at the moment it's also tricky to work out if the difference has moved because there are queries and misposts which need a reply before correcting/sorting and in the meantime the QB balance on the banking tab keeps changing because they only input their income.

I know the QB balance will be correct once I have worked it all through - so I know it is something funny on the feed part but I personally don't use or like the bank feed (I prefer the manual input) but I would expect the Bank feed balance to agree to the bank statement to agree to the QB balance once processed and once they are all on in sync on the same time line.

The feed has been used hit and miss by this client but is more regular now - so I was wondering if somehow something timed out on that side or was missed - but the deposit account is fine it is just something on the current account awol.

Any light you can shed or thoughts would be great - give me somewhere to start looking at.

Hope you're doing good, Sue.

 

After you connected your bank into QuickBooks, your transactions will be downloaded automatically. It will only affect your bank feed balance when you approve and add those transactions into your register.

 

You can read this article: Download, match, and categorise your bank transactions in QuickBooks Online. It will guide you on what to do after downloading those bank transactions.

 

In addition, let's make sure that the opening balance in QuickBooks is correct. We can update it if this is the reason why your bank feed balance and bank statement aren't matching.
