Hi there, philip_duquenmin1.

The order column is controlled by the report type and filters. To get “Current year” first, “Last year” second, and “Variance” last on the Balance Sheet, use a comparison setup and keep “Display columns by” set to Years.

Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account, then go to the Reports menu and select Standard Reports.
  2. Choose Balance Sheet. For the Report period, select "This financial year to date."
  3. In the From and To fields, enter the date range in 2026 for which you want to show the report.
  4. In the "Display columns by" dropdown, select Years. Next to it, use the Compare to option to choose Previous year (PY) or Custom period (CP). Select the desired calculations to display the variance in the final column of your Balance Sheet report.
  5. Click Save as customization at the top right to reuse this setup.
