Question

How do I print a list of spend by supplier for the year

I want a report showing how much I have spent with each supplier for this financial year. I used to be able to do it but can't find the report now? There is an option by Expense but this doesn't show all transactions.

We can open the Purchases by Supplier Detail report to see how much you have spent with each supplier. We just need to customise the displayed data before printing.

Here’s how to open and customise the Purchases by Supplier Detail report:

  1. Go to Reports from the left menu and select Standard reports.
  2. Search for Purchases by Supplier Detail.
  3. Change the Report period to This financial year.
  4. Select Customise and set the following filters:
    • Filter by: Transaction type
    • Condition: equals
    • Value: Bill, Cheque, Expense, Credit Card Expense
Note: You can add additional transaction types to the Value field if required.
  5. Select Apply changes.

After applying the filters, you can print the customised report:

  1. From the customised report, select the Print (printer) icon.
  2. Review the Report Print Settings.
  3. Select Print to generate a preview of the report.
  4. Select the Print icon to choose the destination printer, pages, and number of copies.
  5. Select Print.

Once completed, you can continue with your business activities that require the printed report.

Thanks for taking the time to reply James🙂 Is there a way of just showing the totals, without all the bills? And to arrange by spend, highest to lowest? I have tried Expenses by Supplier Summary and changed from Accrual to cash and that seems to show the values but not sure they are correct!

Yes, you're on the right page for generating the Expenses by Supplier Summary report to display only the totals. To sort the spending from highest to lowest, click the Sort icon or the Up-and-Down Arrow next to the Total in the upper right.
