Is there a report on QBO that shows all the notes that are input on the Sales Accounts?

Hi there, Rachael.

Could you please clarify which type of notes you are looking for? The report you need will depend on where you entered them in QuickBooks Online.

If you're looking for the notes you typed into the Notes tab of a customer's file, you can use the Customer Contact List report. Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports and search for the Customer Contact List report.
  2. Click the Customize button at the top right.
  3. Check the box for Note in the Column section. This adds a column showing the text from each customer's profile notes.

If you're looking for the internal descriptions assigned to your Sales accounts, you can run the Account List report. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports and search for the Account List report.
  2. Click the Customize button at the top.
  3. Ensure the Description checkbox is selected in the Columns section. This will show the account descriptions alongside your account names.

If you're referring to something else, please reply below and let us know.

Thank you but these notes on this report aren't the Notes I require.

There is a tab on the front page of a customer account called Notes.  It's in a horizontal list, starting with "Transaction List" then "Activity Feed" then "Statements" then "Recurring Transactions" then "Customer Details" then "Notes". This is the field I want to see in a report, preferably a Collections/Debt Chasing report, as I make notes here about debt chasing.

Hello there, Rachel.

I understand how important it is for you to view reports that include the notes you've created in the customer's profile. However, QBO does not currently offer an option in its reports to display all notes. As a workaround, you can export a report and manually add the note details to it.

You can refer to this article for more details about adding notes in QBO: Add, edit use notes in QuickBooks.

If you have any additional concerns about QBO, please reach out to us again. We're always here to help.
