Enterprise version makes changes to report from Desktop Accountant version
As a non-profit, we generate Donor reports for the various projects / people in our organization. We’ve used the Accountant Desktop version for years, and the Donor Reports were great. We just moved to the Enterprise version. It was an easy transition because everything seemed exactly the same. I just generated a Donor Report with the Enterprise version and noticed a difference in how the donation is reported. When a donor gives using our online platform (Stripe), that service will add a fee. The donor can choose to cover the fee by adding it to their donation, or the fee will be deducted from the donation. With the Accounting Desktop version, there would be a single line for each donation, displaying the Total Amount Paid of the donation. (I’ll attach the different reports to show what’s happening.) So if the Donor gave $250 and covered the fee of $7.78, with the Accounting Desktop report, it would show $257.78 for that donor in the Income section on a single line. If the donor gave $100 and didn’t cover the $2.48 fee, it would then display the total payment as $100. At the bottom of the report is where the expenses would be displayed as Bank Fees. So using the example above, there would be two lines of expenses, one fee of $7.78, and the other fee of $2.48.
Now in the Enterprise version, when fees are involved, in the Income section, the single donor / transaction is split into two lines, one line displays the “Net” amount of the donation ($250 and $97.52 respectively); the other line showing the Bank fees. The result is the same, but it makes no sense to split up the Total Payment into two lines . . . it just muddies up the report. Any suggestion to get the Enterprise version of the report to behave like the Accountant Desktop version?
