This happens because the Profit and Loss report pulls data from different sources. You can verify this by checking the date range, the accounting method (Cash vs. Accrual), and ensuring product and service items are mapped to income accounts.

  1. Navigate to Reports, then Standard reports.
  2. Choose Profit and Loss.
  3. Adjust the Report period, From, and To date fields as needed.

With cash-basis reporting, income appears only after payment is received and recorded. If the sales entered after August 7th are unpaid invoices, they will remain invisible until payments are applied.

Additionally, it’s best to check the transaction type. Non-posting transactions like estimates appear in sales reports but won't show in financial reports until converted to invoices.

Lastly, if recent sales were created using a product or service item that was mapped to a balance sheet account, they will not be reported in Profit and Loss. Review the items tied to the invoice or sales receipts to confirm that they're properly linked to your revenue accounts.

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon.
  2. Under All list, select Products and Services.
  3. Locate the item used in your recent invoice or sales receipt.
  4. Click Edit under the ACTIONS column.
  5. In the Sales section, locate the Income account field to review the account type.
  6. Click Save and close.
