The option to modify or delete a product and service in QuickBooks Self-employed is unavailable. Rest assured, I'll take note of this suggestion and share it with our Developers team.
Your ideas help us to have a more friendly user interface.
If you want to let your customers pay the invoice electronically, you can check this article: Many ways to get paid.
If you have other product suggestions, you may post them here. Stay safe!
Thank you for your response! It would be very helpful to be able to edit/delete products and services. For example, I am an occupational therapist and I bill various treatment codes as services. I forgot to include one detail in my original service created and now I am unable to change that. I created another service with the appropriate details but I had to use a different name/title for the service that isn’t as appropriate as the first one I used. This is very limiting and may impact the information my clients need on their invoices when they submit them to their insurance companies.
Is there any other solution you suggest? Could this option been added very soon?
This really needs to be a thing. Why are we paying $15+ for something that lacks basic functionality that we could create using Office 365? The point in using your service is to save us time and hassle from going down that exact road. Honestly, at this point, we are considering other services. The fact that there doesn't even seem to be any urgency to resolve this "issue" is very telling on Quickbook's behalf and what they honestly think about the Self-Employed customer base.
Ya, I’m going to pile on these complaints as well. The fact that Im not able to delete a service or product I no longer offer is absurd. How is that not a usable function for customers??? That seems very basic
I can't believe this has been an open issue for over a year now.
It seems that QB put the Self-Employed thing together and has put almost nothing into the development. What, you have 1 customer care service person and 1 programmer working part time to address the issues?
QB needs to get serious about supporting the program or just drop it. Supporting halfway makes it doomed to failure.
I'm also looking into other services that are a bit more mature and have support.
I agree this subscription should include more customization and functionality… I need to edit product and services and find it very frustrating that I cannot. I didn’t realize I would be so limited when signing up.
I do agree with you that adding more customizations and functionality would make the Self-Employed platform better and more flexible.
We're always looking for suggestions and ideas from our users. So, I would recommend sending feedback to our developers about the option to edit products and services in Self-Employed.
Here's how to send feedback:
In Self-Employed, click the Assistant menu.
When asked by the chat bot, enter "send feedback."
Select Add a feature.
When asked again, enter something like "edit products and services" or similar.
Proceed with Yes to send your ideas.
You can also add any other suggestions if you want.
Our developers will take a look at your inputs and consider them for future improvements on the Self-Employed platform.
Let me know if you have other concerns about the functions and features in Self-Employed. If you have questions on categorizing your transactions or managing reports, add the details to your reply and I'll help you out.
I have the same question. A 3rd part piece of junk (practice panther) installed multiple products and services I cannot delete. I no longer use this service. Similar issue with MyCase. I would assume QB understands relational databases and allow the customer to make changes to their:
Chart of accounts
Products and Services
Really brain dead - zombie feature, I am a new user so maybe I am missing something.
Pretty shameful to not have such a basic feature but even more embarrassing on top of downright lazy to not have corrected this problem after how long ago the issue was raised. Shows you the lack of community input being used or much less even taken into consideration by the QB developers as well as customer service. Its a DELETE BUTTON. Just ridiculous.
