It's true, there is no BILL print option in QBO at this time.
The only option I can think of is to use the print menu directly from your browser. But it's not the same as part of the QBO print feature.
The other option is to print the Transaction Journal report from the Bill form. Open the Bill you want to print, click MORE at the bottom and select Transaction Journal. It will give you how you categorize the Bill.
Honestly I can't fathom how a company would think not having a print option for printing bills/invoices is acceptable. It is absolutely a basic need. There are so many things QBO can't do that is almost USELESS.
I also don't see that QB ever listens to the customers and tries to implement anything that we request. Seriously how difficult could be to add it.
I hate QBO and try to switch over all my clients to other software but I get new ones where I'm forced to use QBO. You should be embarassed to call this a complete software for small business. You STILL can't enter Sale Orders. It really is absolutely ridiculous.
In the meantime I keep moving your customers off this platform over to something that works.
I appreciate you for dropping by here in the Community about the features you need in QuickBooks. I would feel the same in that situation if performing my basic needs using the cloud-based version of the program is unavailable.
Our product engineers are working diligently for updates and improvements on the features. For now, I recommend sending your feedback straight to our dedicated team to help make changes to QuickBooks Online's capability.
Here's how:
Sign in to your QuickBooks account.
Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner.
Select Feedback under Profile.
Share your feedback.
Hit Next.

Please know that I'm just a post away if you have more questions or concerns regarding the features in the Online version. Take care.
Currently, printing a bill is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). As a workaround, you'll want to run and customize the Transactions List by Vendor report to access the bills of your vendors.
Here's how:
Click Reports on the left panel.
On the search bar, type Transactions List by Vendor.
March 20 2021 and we still can't print an invoice straight after you have made the invoice from the online version of QuicBooks. An extra step is necessary to print your so needed invoice. Going back to the APP I guess.
There is an app called "RightTool" that will do this. I use "RightTool" for several things that QBO cannot and will not do. There is a free version of the app and I'm going to encourage you to add it to your QBO. I use the paid version and it's saving me a lot of headaches. Also, you will want to follow the makers of "RightTool" because they are great resources on all things QBO. Honestly, our company is looking for a different accounting software but have not found the right fit yet.
I can see how having the option to print bills in QuickBooks Online would be helpful. I'll do my part and pass this suggestion along the Product Development Team once more. The more attention that is brought to this subject, the more likely there will be change. Many product updates and feature releases come directly from great user recommendations like yours. You can keep any eye out for these types of updates by viewing the QuickBooks Blog.
Please don't hesitate to reach back out if you have any other questions. I'm always happy to help.
I have a lender that needs us to print bills to be emailed. I was able to do the invoices yesterday. Why would the same feature that is already built not be available for a different type of transaction. What is even more ridiculous is that in the vendor window it allows me to click next to purchase orders and print those but then to click on a bill it then grays out the print function. Help us out, please!
I understand how convenient to have a print bill option. Currently, printing a bill is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Please know that we always take our customers' requests and ideas into consideration when prioritizing feature development.
That said, I recommend sending feedback to our Product Development Team to help improve your QuickBooks experience. When you're ready, here's how to do it:
Log in to your QBO account.
Go to the Gear icon at the top, then select Feedback.
Enter your comments or product suggestions.
Click Next to complete the process.
As a workaround, you can follow the steps provided by vpcontroller. This way you will be able to print a bill directly from your browser.
This exact post was already stated. Maybe you guys need to take a look at your feedback and actually do something about it. This software is pathetic and should not be called an accounting software. Truly the worst mistake we have ever made. And all you keep hearing is "coming soon" or "use our feedback feature" for EVERY issue that comes up. Good luck everyone, as we have noticed that customer support only supports themselves, not the people that actually use the program.
We had to upgrade to classify expenditures properly - Now at $70 per month, I realize that I cannot print a BILL? I have to echo the frustration as I read that this had been needed for over 2 years - We have a VERY small non-profit so the up-charge to get fairly simple reporting, since tags cannot handle split funding -
I would have expected to be able to print.. a bill. PLEASE listen and add this feature to QBonline
Bill in QuickBooks is for recording purposes on what was actually done outside. The system uses check as the default transaction mode of payment which's why it shows as Bill Payment (Check). If you want to send proof of your expense, you can manually view and print the bill payment by looking for the transactions in your vendors.
Go to the Vendors tab.
Select the vendors who have the bill payment transactions.
Click the View/Edit dropdown in the bill payment section you want to print.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, odonnellex.
I can only imagine how the option to print a bill will help your business. While we're gathering information, I'll add another set of requests to our developers to make sure they can review this function. They're always keen on new ideas from users like you to improve our product.
In the meantime, I recommend visiting our Firm of the Future site. This is where we share recent happenings and future developments, such as updates to newly added features
Please know that you're always welcome to comment anytime if you have other concerns with managing bills. Have a great day!
This post is 2 years old and your users are still asking for a basic task like PRINT ? I was forced to move to QB online so yes part of a new wave of users that get accustomed with the QB online.
It's clear to me that this is not an oversight but obviously intentional. I guess I will start researching for my alternatives and move my business to another cloud-based system. The overall feedback for about 2 years from QB moderators here is that you can go ahead and submit your feedback but bottom line is that no one would care anyway.
This original post was posted in February of 2020! How is there STILL not a print feature for bills?!?! I am absolutely amazed at the lack of service from QBO. It's not even a "feature", it is a standard item. The "feedback" button that they keep referring us to does nothing... obviously, since it's been 2.5 years and no revisions have been made. QBO --- do better and give basic features so someone can run a business. I am paying for the "best" online service and yet I can't print a bill. What a joke!
It's now 2023 and there still is no solution to this. This is really concerning as we just switched to QuickBooks, but if simple features like this doesn't get resolved, I'll be looking more seriously into other software like Sage.
That is how long Quickbooks Online has been promising to fix this issue, among others. My old job we used Desktop version, which is GREAT but where I am now we are online. And NOW they are doing away with all desktop and support.,,EVERYONE will be forced to use online...UNLESS we find a new service to use. Which my boss has asked me to begin seriously looking into as Quickbooks continues to say these issues will be fixed but again...YEARS!!! It is ridiculous that I cannot print a stupid bill without going through a bunch of weird options that ends up printing a poor, ugly substitute for the bill. Quickbooks will have a massive drop in users and revenues soon because I know Desktop users who understand my frustration with online and will not make the switch.
