Question

How do I recover my QuickBooks Workforce account to get my pay stubs or W-2 if I no longer have my old phone number or my former employer's contact info?

I tried to change the password following the step by step sent, but they informed me that they did not find my user. They sent me a link to follow another way, but the link doesn't work, here's the link: https://community.intuit.com/content/p_na_na_gl_cas_na_article:L367nlElJ_US_en_US

I need to access my account to get my W-2 form and declare my fees. I was an exchange student in 2022 and worked at the Best Western Ambassador Inn & Suites in Wisconsin Dells, they put my payslips in Quickbooks and all my work documents were available in my account. When I returned to my country, Brazil, I changed my phone number and since then I can't log into my account.

I don't remember my login, but my registered email is [email address removed], my full name is Luana Porto Correia, I worked at the Best Western Ambassador Inn in Wisconsin Dells from late January to March 15th.

I have a print of an email I received from you when I received my salary, it is attached. Please I need help logging in and retrieving W-2.

Hello there, luanaporto1.

It's nice to hear from you. Let me help you recover your login and ensure you can view your W-2 form.

Did our Phone Support Team provide you with that link? If yes, we can contact them again to ask correct one containing information about the other way of recovering login.

Still, I have another set of steps to share with you. If you haven't tried updating your phone number or user ID on the Intuit Account page, we can follow these steps to fix it.

  1. Go to our sign-in help page.
  2. Enter your phone number, email address, or user ID. Since you can still access your email address, we can use it. We'll then receive an email with a verification code.
  3. Input the verification code we sent, or follow the instructions in the message.
  4. Reset your password.

Once done, change your login information in the Intuit Account Manager. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to the Intuit Account Manager
  2. Select the Sign-in & security menu.
  3. Select the User IDEmail addressPassword, or Phone section.
  4. Make your changes.
  5. Hit Save to reflect the changes.

Afterward, if you still have contact with your employer, you can ask him to re-invite you to QuickBooks Workforce using the correct details. Make sure to accept it before expiration. For further guidance, we can utilize this article: Invite your employees to QuickBooks Workforce to see pay stubs and W-2s

To keep your Workforce info up-to-date, you can check this link: How to change the user id or email address for QuickBooks Workforce.

Keep your post coming if you have more concerns about viewing your W-2 form. I'll be around to back you up. Bye for now and take care.

Yes, it was your support team that sent me that link, if you can send me another one that works I would appreciate it.

And yes, I've tried in every way to recover my login, but I couldn't. Even the way you mentioned, even when they send a code to my email, they still ask me to send a code to my old phone number too, and therein lies the problem, as I no longer have access to the number.

Another point, I no longer have contact with my former employer, as I said, I worked there until March 2022, and since then I have no contact with them. So I need to access my old account to get the document for the time I worked there.

If standard account recovery keeps asking for a verification code sent to a phone number you no longer have, and you also can't reach your former employer for a new invite, there's still a path back into your account.

Try recovery with just your email first

  1. Go to the sign-in help page.
  2. Enter the email address on file for your account.
  3. Choose to receive your verification code by email rather than text, if that option is offered.
  4. Enter the code, then follow the prompts to reset your password.

If you're still asked for your old phone number

Some recovery flows verify against more than one contact method on file. If email alone doesn't get you through, and you no longer have access to the phone number tied to the account, submit an account recovery request with proof of identity instead. This path exists specifically for situations where your usual verification methods aren't available anymore.

If your employer originally set up your access and you've since lost contact

Normally, a former employer can re-invite you to QuickBooks Workforce to restore access. If that's not possible because you're no longer in contact with them, rely on the identity verification path above rather than the employer re-invite, since it doesn't depend on the employer being reachable.

Once you're back in, you can view and download your pay stubs and W-2 directly from QuickBooks Workforce.
