How do I reorder bank accounts on the QuickBooks Online dashboard?

I had them in the order I preferred but then one day I opened QuickBooks and they were different and I cant find how to list them in the order that they were in previously.

You can put your bank accounts on the QuickBooks Online dashboard in whatever order works best for you, and it's a different step from rearranging the widgets themselves. Here's how:

  1. Go to your Home page and find the Bank Accounts widget.
  2. Select the Settings icon on the widget.
  3. Drag the accounts into the order you want.
  4. Select Save.

This is separate from the drag-and-drop you already use to move entire widgets around your Home page. The accounts inside the Bank Accounts widget have their own reorder tool, tucked behind that Settings icon.

When you change the order of your bank accounts, it doesn't revert after logging out. However, if you have other users in your account, the changes they make on the order of the bank accounts will also apply to your view in the dashboard when logging back in.

 

On the other hand, if you are the sole user of the account, we can run basic troubleshooting to fix the odd behavior.

 

Let's access your QBO account using a private browser window, as it avoids your browsing history. To open a private browser, use these shortcut keys on your keyboard:

 

  • Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

 

If this resolves the issue, consider clearing your regular browser's cache to refresh your connection and browsing history. Keep in mind to exclude the cookies. Alternatively, you can try using other supported browsers.

Wow.  Yet another useless canned answer from staff.

Really not surprised.

My cache clears every day when I log out, and this problem continues.  I have tried rearranging and renaming the accounts and QBO just keeps putting them in the exact same order regardless of alphabetizing or specific moving of the blocks.
