Intuit will probably get around to fixing it at some point. Or they'll blame your browser.

I'm here to provide ways to help you access the customer info on the invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Clean.

I've replicated the issue and was able to select the customer on the invoice. Refer to the sample screenshot below:

In this case, I recommend accessing your QuickBooks Online account in an incognito/private window to see if it's a browser issue. Your browser's cache and cookies become corrupted, causing problems when accessing websites or opening files.

Please refer to the following keyboard shortcuts based on your browser type:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If the private browsing session resolves the issue, clear the browser's cache to refresh the system. You can also use other supported, up-to-date browsers. Clearing the cache will remove stored data, including cookies, which may be the cause of the problems.

Additionally, you can refer to this article to learn how to personalize sales forms in QBO: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts.

Keep me posted if you have other questions about managing your invoice. I'll be right here to help. Take care.

@MichaelaS  Just so you know, when you say that 'you have replicated the issue', it means that you have actually managed to trigger the problem, not that you were able to select a customer without issue.

So, unless you mean that you somehow managed to trigger a cache problem such that you couldn't select a customer, and clearing your cache resolved the problem, then no, you did not replicate the issue.

Did you ever get this figured out? I’m currently dealing with it right now.
it’s kind of hard to run a business when you can’t create new invoices, receive payments, or access your customers.

To assist you effectively, could you please let me know what exactly happened when you tried to create invoices, record payments, or view customer details? Do you see any error messages? Providing this information will help us narrow down the issue and give you the right solution.

If you haven't yet, let's perform some troubleshooting steps to bypass this unusual behavior. Let's start by refreshing your page by pressing F5 on your keyboard or clicking the Refresh button in your browser to start a new session. You should also close any extra QuickBooks tabs you aren't using, as too many open windows or old browser data can cause loading errors.

Next, sign out and log back in to try your tasks again. If the problem continues, try using a private or incognito window. This helps the site run better by ignoring saved files. You can also try a different browser, like Google Chrome, for better performance.

After completing the steps above, try to create invoices, record the payments, and access your customer's information again to see if that resolves the problem.

If the problem persists, please contact our Live support team. They have the tools to investigate the issue further. Please be sure to check their business hours so you can reach them at the right time.

If you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask. We're here to assist.
