Question

Just migrated over from desktop and I want to customize my P&L to add a column for % income. How do I customize the online P&L with a subcolumn like I did in Desktop?

I'd be delighted to provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to set up a percentage of income metric in your financial records. 

 

The % of income button is found in the Rows/Column section when customizing a report. Let me show you how.

 

  1. Go to the Reports section in QuickBooks Online.
  2. Find the Profit and Loss report and click on it to open the report.
  3. In the top-right corner of the report, click on the Customize button.
  4. In the Customize Report window, click on the Rows/Columns.
  5. Click the  % of Income box.
  6. Once you're satisfied with the layout, click the Run Report button to apply the changes and view the updated P&L report.
