I'll provide details to ensure you can select the expense categories for your transactions, Malcolm.
Currently, we have an ongoing investigation where some categories are not displaying as expected when using the QuickBooks Mobile App (iOS) mobile app.
If you're using iOS, I recommend contacting our support team to be added to the list of affected users and notify you of the updates through email.
Navigate to the Menu in your mobile app
Click the Help icon, then select ALL.
Choose the Ask QB assistant a question option and select Contact Us.
Set a specific topic or Ask about something else. Type in a brief description.
On the other hand, if you're using the QuickBooks Mobile App (Android), let's refresh the application to isolate the issue.
Proceed to the Home menu or tap the three dots in the right upper right corner.
Tap on Settings, then select Refresh Data.
Press Yes.
I'll also add this article to help you generate a transaction from your physical receipts to your QuickBooks mobile: Upload your receipts.
Don't hesitate to add a Reply below if have follow-up questions about the expense categories or anything else about QuickBooks. I'll be more than willing to answer them.
