This customer has provided 3 different card numbers with different names and addresses. Is there a way to report this to law enforcement

You can report your customer to their bank or credit card company, cdelrosario. I'll share some insights on how you can handle possible stolen credit cards for payment in QuickBooks.

When you process a payment using a stolen credit card, a possible chargeback would likely occur. To give you details on what you need to do if you get a dispute for a payment you processed with QuickBooks Payments, please see this article: Handle chargebacks and retrieval requests for QuickBooks Payments.

Additionally, you may want to know how long it takes to get customer payments in your bank account after you process them in QuickBooks Payments. To do this, check out this article: Find out when QuickBooks Payments deposits customer payments.

I'm all ears if there's anything else you need or concerns about processing credit card payments in QuickBooks Payments. You can drop your comment below, and I'll gladly help.

Is there a way to check and see if a credit card is stolen before running it in your QB merchant service system?

Good morning, @Jet61

Thanks for chiming in on this thread.

I can see how beneficial this could be for you and your business. However, there isn't a way to see if a credit card is stolen before putting it into the system. The fraud detection happens when the payment is processed by the issuing bank.

You can submit feedback to our Product Developers so they can consider adding this in the near future.

Feel free to reach back out if you have any further questions. Have a great day!

Who do we report fraud to if we are the seller. I was hit 3 times and the perp is shown to be in California across the country.

Hi there, Dave.

To dispute chargebacks and report fraud, I recommend coordinating with our Live Support team. You may also need to contact the fraudster’s bank or credit card issuer to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Here’s how to reach them:

  1. Open QuickBooks Online and go to the Help (?) menu.
  2. Click the Search tab.
  3. Enter your concern in the text field and select Contact Us
  4. Choose either the Chat or Callback option to connect with support.
