The primary reason two users see different dashboards in QuickBooks Online is that they are using different display modes: Business view or Accountant view. Each mode features distinct widgets, menu layouts, and terminology. Financial summaries, such as the P&L widget, appear in Accountant view.

Check which view you're using

  1. Select the Settings (Gear) icon in the upper right.
  2. Look for either Switch to Business view or Switch to Accountant view in the menu.
  3. The option listed reflects the mode you are not currently using. If it displays "Switch to Accountant view," you are in Business view, and vice versa.

To align your dashboard with another user, switch to their view. Changing views only alters your visual layout and will not affect your accounting data.

If you're already in the same view and still see differences

If you are in the same view but still notice differences, browser caching may be the cause. Open QuickBooks Online in a private or incognito window to verify. If the issue is resolved there, clear your standard browser's cache and cookies.

Let us know if switching views or clearing cache resolved the difference, or if you're still seeing something unexpected.

Hi lisa-roundrockre!

It could be that your husband is using a different view. QBO has an option to switch between Business and Accountant views. They mainly change the interface on your Dashboard.

Let me know if you need more assistance with changing the view.

We are both in Business view now. I can see the cashflow report now, but the P&L widget is still missing. We looked at his for now but we find lots of differences in our two logins even though I have full access.

Thanks for getting back to the thread, Lisa-round rock. I'll be glad to share some details and fixes on your dashboard concern.

In QuickBooks Online, there is an ongoing implementation of a new user interface. So, there are still accounts that are not yet affected by the updates.

Your case may also be caused by stored cookies and cache, that enable you to from features in QuickBooks Online. We can perform the basic troubleshooting process. This helps fix your browser to work better and faster. I'll show you how.

  1. Restart your browser.
  2. Log in to your QuickBooks company file in an incognito or private browser and try to see if you can see the P&L widget on your dashboard. You can use these keyboard shortcuts to launch a new private window:

Google Chrome: press Ctrl Shift N

Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P

Safari: press Command Shift N

If it works, you can return to your regular browser and clear your browser's cache. Then you may see if it fixes the problem and gets started on the tasks at hand. However, if the incognito window didn't work, you can use another supported browser.

Please refer to this article for more details: Troubleshooting browser problems.

If the problem persists, I'd like to request a screenshot from you so that we can investigate why you're unable to view the P&L widget on your dashboard. This way, I can provide you with a resolution that fits your situation.

You can also check out this article for more details about the QBO dashboard and more details on managing your account: Get started and adjust settings after you sign up for QuickBooks Online.

Please don't hesitate to come back if you have any other concerns or suggestions. I'm always here to help you. Stay safe!
