If your vendor list isn't showing up in QuickBooks Online, don't worry. It's usually just a quick browser issue or a hidden filter. We recommend starting with a private browser window, then following the steps below to get everything back on track.

Step 1: Check your vendor filters

QuickBooks Online doesn't let you delete a vendor, only make it inactive, so an inactive vendor stays in your account but drops out of the default list view. Open your vendors and look for a display settings option above the list to include inactive vendors, so you can confirm none of your vendors are just hidden rather than missing.

Step 2: Try a private or incognito window

This rules out whether your regular browser is the problem. Use these shortcuts to open a private window:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari 11 or newer: Cmd + Shift + N

Sign in and check your vendors. If they show up here, the issue is with your regular browser's stored data, not your QuickBooks account.

Step 3: Clear your browser's cache and cookies

If the private window fixed it, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache, then restart the browser. If the problem sticks around, clear Intuit-specific cookies too. This helps refresh site preferences without wiping the rest of your browsing data.

Step 4: Try a different supported browser

If clearing cache doesn't help, switch to another supported, up-to-date browser to see if the vendor list loads there.

This seems to be a common issue lately. I've seen at least four complaints here in the last few days...  Not sure the solution, though. Intuit will probably blame your browser.

I'll make sure you can view your vendor list, @Jwipf.

We can perform basic browser troubleshooting to fix the issue. It could be that the stored cache and cookies in the system are the reason why you're having issues accessing vendors.

We can start by accessing your QuickBooks account through a private/incognito browser. Feel free to use these shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ + Shift + N

Once you're in, let's go to the Expense section to check your vendors. If we're able to view them, we'll need to go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to get rid of the junk files and site data.

If the issue persists, we can use other supported browsers. It could be that the one you're currently using right now has a temporary problem with QuickBooks Online.

I also recommend reading this article to be guided in customizing and managing your vendor profile and transactions: View Vendor Transactions.

I'm always here to help if you have any other concerns or questions. Just tag my name in the comment section and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

I was right! You blamed the browser, as usual.

It might be better for QuickBooks Online to manage the browser cache. Just a thought.
