I got you back, Jsn80. Let's find out where to enter your sales tax by location in QuickBooks Online.
First off, I recognize the changes between the old layout and the new design of our invoice, as QuickBooks aims to provide the most convenient experience they can offer.
Since you need to input your sales tax by location, we need to scroll down a bit from the invoice page and tap See the Math option. Once the left panel shows, it will let you modify or enter relevant details for your sales taxes.
Here's a sample illustration below for additional reference:
Thanks, yes I'm doing the "see the math" when I put in the location of work address, it does calculate the tax correctly , but..... it then put shipping address on our invoice, which it shouldn't, as we don't ship, and I have done customization of format and selected don't show shipping. The only way I have found to work around all of this, (which I didn't have to do on the old format) is to over ride the sales tax calculation and enter the sales tax rate myself. The drawback being I first have to enter the location, to see if the address we have is considered in the city or outside city limits and then get the correct tax rate and then switch back and over ride sales tax with the rate I've found.
Any way you know to avoid "over ride"
