Being able to receive payments through QuickBooks Online is a great way to make sure your invoices get paid quickly. I can help go over how this is done in.
In QuickBooks Online linking your bank account only allows you to import bank feeds which allows you to import payments already made. If you wish to receive payments directly from your customers you will need to subscribe to our payments add on. To learn more about how the payments add on works you can take a look here.
Once a payment is made you'll receive an email stating a payment was made and your client will get a message saying the payment was processed. If you wish to send an actual receipt, you would need to manually send it from there.
