Welcome to the QuickBooks Community! Making sure that you have the right setup for your invoices will ensure that your figures are tracking correctly in your books, and I love that you're using this forum as a resource to find the answers on how to do this. I'm here to help make sure you have the information you need on how to handle meals on an invoice.
To ensure that you have the correct information for your situation, it'd be helpful to have clarification on what you're looking to do. With what you've described here, it sounds like you could be asking about accounting for meal expenses for your business. If that's the case, what you can do is use the Meals and entertainment expenses account in the Category section on an expense transaction, or whatever other account you may like to use. For questions on setting up sales tax for this purpose, check out this article: How to set up a sales tax rate for Meals and Entertainment
If that's not quite what you're looking for, please feel free to elaborate in a response on this thread. The more detail you can share about the kind of transaction you're working with and how you're hoping to categorize or deduct a lunch on an invoice, the better I'll be able to guide you. Keep in mind, however, that the QuickBooks Community is a public forum, so please don't share any sensitive information.
I'll keep an eye out for a response from you. :)
