Hi there,

Recording a tax overpayment is made simple in QuickBooks Online. I know how important it is to make sure your books reflect your real-life banking and balances. I'll help you record this overpayment by documenting a refund on your tax filing.

Here's what you'll do:

1. Click the Taxes tab, then select Sales Tax.

2. Under the "Filed" tab, click the small drop-down arrow in the Action column next to the filing you overpaid on.

3. Click Record refund.

4. Enter the refund amount (the overpayment).

5. Click Record Refund.

That's all there is to it! I hope this helps you get back on track.

Cheers.
