Question

I want to invoice my clients via quickbooks, but I don't want them to pay me through quickbooks. How do I turn this off?

Hi -1bookkeepingser,

QuickBooks offers the flexibility which enables you to select a default payment method for your customers. I'd be glad to steer you in the right direction so you can invoice your clients and get paid the way you'd like to get paid.

Based on what you've described, I'd recommend changing the preferred payment method for your clients. That way your customers can receive the invoices and pay you the way you'd to get paid based on the preferred payment method you set up. Here's how:

  1. Click on Sales on the left menu and go to the Customers tab.
  2. Choose the customer profile and select the Edit button.
  3. In the Customer information window, navigate to the Payment and billing tab.
  4. Leave the Preferred payment method field blank or with the method of payment you prefer.
  5. Click Save.

I encourage you to give this a try and if you have further questions, don't hesitate to reach back to me in the comments below. I'm here to assist.
