Question

In the app on my phone how do I stop reminders? I don’t see the option for sales under settings. I wish QB wouldn’t automatically opt us into stuff like this and payments

One more of these and I’m going to switch apps.

Hi there, @ben168. I understand your concerns about automatic opt-ins and why you’d want more control over reminders.

If you are referring to turning off the Automatic invoice reminders feature, this option isn’t available in the mobile app due to limited functionality. You can disable this in your mobile browser.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
  2. Navigate to the Sales section, then click Reminders.
  3. Toggle Automatic invoice reminders to Off, then save the changes and Done.

By the way, even if this option is turned off, you can still send reminders manually from the Sales transactions menu. You can also record payments from the same menu using the Receive payment option.

If there’s anything else I can help you with, feel free to ask. I'm always here to help!

Thanks. Is there some way to be defaulted as opt out for any new feature like this? I don’t want my clients bugged by an app I haven’t approved. I just went through a month of back and forth to get my client’s money returned after invoice payments were defaulted on despite my not even having a linked account. It’s a huge waste of my time and makes me look unprofessional. Why am I having to manage a rogue app?

Hello there, Ben. Thanks for reaching out to us again.

I completely understand your concern regarding the automatic opt-in to new features and the challenges you've faced with the invoice payment defaults. It’s certainly not ideal when something impacts your clients and makes you feel unprofessional. I’ll do my best to provide clarity on this.

Currently, QuickBooks Online (QBO) does not have the option in the app settings to automatically opt users out of new features by default. However, you can manually disable this feature, as my colleague @GebelAlaina_M  suggested, by using your mobile browser and following the provided steps.

Even with this option disabled, you can still manually send reminders through the Sales transactions menu. Additionally, you can use the Receive Payment option in the same menu to record payments.

If you have any additional concerns about QuickBooks, please reach out to us again. We’re always here to assist you.
