Did you use QB Online in those years? or QB Desktop?

QB Online is used by the client. They have not taken any back up. All I need now is General ledger and transaction report.

Try logging into their QBO account. If you're lucky, you can find the account and resubscribe. By default, they only keep your data for 12 months after cancellation.
