I have some information about adding taxes. QBO set up tax by default, thus, when you purchase an item to your supplier the tax is added on it. 

 

To verify the tax of an item:

 

  1. Go to Gear at the top.
  2. Select Products and services under Lists.
  3. Edit the item to see the Sales tax category. From there, you can choose the tax rate or code.
  4. Click Save and close.
