There isn't a way to remove the VAT feature once it's activated in QuickBooks. However, you can set the default to Out of scope of Tax in the Account and settings. This ensures that every time you create a transaction, it will no longer be applied.

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon and select Account and settings.
  2. In the Advanced tab, go to the Accounting section and click Edit.
  3. Change the Default tax rate selection to Out of scope of Tax.
  4. Hit Save.

These changes only apply moving forward. Any entries you've already saved with VAT will remain unchanged, so your past records stay accurate.
