How do I correct a filed 1099? I do not see a correct next to the accepted form via the instructions.

    Please note that the IRS must accept the 1099 before you can make any corrections.

     

    Before you proceed with correcting a filed 1099, please check the following:

     

    • Ensure the form status shows as Accepted (not Pending or Processing)
    • Check if the correction window is available, especially early in tax season; the correction feature may not be enabled immediately.
    • Ensure you're logged in as the Primary Admin or the user who filed the original form.

     

    If you continue to experience issues, try using an incognito or private browser window. This can help resolve any temporary problems by preventing your browser from saving data. 

     

    Additionally, your business info (name, EIN, address) must match exactly what was on the original accepted filing. If you've changed company details since filing, temporarily change them back to submit the correction.
