Question

I have an Irish business registered for UK VAT. Can the Irish version of QB pick up both UK and ROI VAT returns, by changing the VAT Code?

Thanks for posting in the Community, @oisin-kelly-cava.

Due to the Brexit impact, you need to report VAT separately to the Revenue in Ireland and another to the UK for the purchased goods or services. Thus, you may use the Standard (S) VAT code when purchasing supplies from a UK VAT-registered supplier. Then, create a VAT code in QuickBooks and linked VAT items manually.

Also, I would still recommend working with a tax expert or professional accountant. This way, they can review books securely and record your taxes and purchases accordingly.
