Hi there, open home properties. Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. Currently, QuickBooks Online doesn’t allow direct editing of VAT returns that have already been marked as filed. If you need to make changes, the VAT return must first be unfiled.

To unfile a VAT return, you’ll need assistance from our QuickBooks Support team. Our Back-End team will handle this process for you.

Before contacting support, please prepare the following information:

  1. Your QuickBooks Online Company ID
  2. The tax filing period you wish to unfile
  3. The reason for unfiling your VAT return

Here's how to contact our support:

  1. Log in to your QBO account.
  2. Click the Help (?) button. Then click the Search tab.
  3. Enter Contact us on the search field, then select Contact us on the bottom.
  4. Select Chat to speak with a representative.

Once the unfiling process begins, you’ll need to stay signed out of QuickBooks. Our Support Team will notify you when the process is complete.

If you have more concerns related to QuickBooks. Don't hesitate to reply. We're here to help.
