Question

Is the GST not working again in QBO Canada today? When I went to enter an expense, it won't show the GST. It was working just fine and just suddenly stopped.

I try to enter an expense and choose the GST code I want but it won't show the GST below in the total area.

It's possible that you may have switched the expense to Out of Scope. Once this is selected, the transaction is not taxable.

I suggest checking the Amounts are field and choosing either Inclusive of Tax or Exclusive of Tax. After that, select the tax rate under the Sales Tax column, which is GST.

Once selected, kindly click anywhere within the expense page to trigger the tax calculation, which will then appear in the total area.

If it's already set to Inclusive or Exclusive of Tax but still does not show in the tax calculation, I suggest logging out of your QuickBooks Online account and signing back in to ensure a smooth data refresh.
