I've got you covered today, lorenza1.

I'll help you reopen a filed tax return in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Before we begin, I'd like to clarify which tax return are you referring. Is it the VAT tax return or the Sales Tax return? Neither of the two, I'll be showing you the steps for both.

To reopen a VAT tax return, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Taxes menu and choose VAT.
  2. Under Filed returns, select the tax return you want to reopen.
  3. From the Action drop-down, choose View return.
  4. You also have the option to print the return by clicking the Printer icon.

Learn more about managing VAT through this article: VAT Feature Update FAQ.

To reopen a Sales Tax return, you'll need to have the accountant user access. If  you're not, you'll want to reach out to someone with accountant user for help.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Taxes and choose Sales Tax.
  2. Select the Returns tab.
  3. Locate the filed return.
  4. Under the Action column, open the drop down menu to view options.

If you wish to modify the filed tax return, you'll need to have the accountant user access. If don't have, you'll want to reach out to someone with accountant user or you can find a certified ProAdvisor in your area.

Otherwise, contact our QuickBooks Care Support so they verify your account and help make necessary changes. Here's how you can reach us:

  1. Go to the Help menu at the upper right.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter your concern. Then, click Let’s talk.
  4. Choose Start messaging.
  5. Fill in the information needed and click Send message.
