To add inventory items, you need to ensure that inventory tracking is turned on first. Here's how to do it:
Go to the Gear icon in the upper right corner and select Account and Settings.
Select the Sales tab.
Click Edit ✎ in the Products and Services section.

Enable both Track quantity and price/rate and Track inventory quantity on hand.
