Question

I have the quickbooks/turbo tax bundle monthly subscription, so why is turbo tax now showing I need to pay for both federal & state filing? That should be included.

The last few years it just automatically covered the fees in turbotax when I went to file (I always go through my quickbooks first, and then it takes me to turbo tax to file). But this year the fees are not waived and turbo tax is asking me to pay in full for the federal & state filing. My subscription covers that fee - so why is it asking me to pay? I talked with Turbo tax on the phone and they were useless and told me to talk to Quickbooks - I've now called quickbooks 2 times and have sat on hold for 2 hours and then get disconnected. I need help!

Hi, krista27. I completely hear your frustration. It is draining indeed to spend hours on hold and be bounced between two support teams while facing unexpected charges for a service you’ve already paid for.

You're right that the QuickBooks Self-Employed Tax Bundle includes one federal and one state tax return filing at no extra cost. Since the fees may stem from a login mismatch, verify it first before your next call. To do so, ensure you're using the same email address for QuickBooks Self-Employed and TurboTax. If the accounts aren't identical, the system won't recognize your subscription.

After confirming that they correspond, I recommend contacting the TurboTax Support Team. Given that the charges appeared within their filing checkout, they have the specific tools to check why the bundle isn't triggering and waive those fees. Check out this article for the contact numbers: Intuit TurboTax.
