I would like to add sales tax to an item but want to hide the sales tax amount and only show the item+Sales tax as the total amount on the line on the invoice.

If you're trying to print your invoice, you can uncheck the Salex Tax item from the Template section to hide it.

Here's how:

  1. Go to List > Templates.
  2. Open the invoice template you currently use.
  3. Click Additional Customization, then head to the Footer tab.
  4. Uncheck Sales Tax under the Print column.

When you print, email, or preview the invoice, the individual tax summary row at the bottom will no longer be visible to the customer. However, please note that QuickBooks will continue to calculate the total tax amount internally.

If you had a different setup or goal in mind, feel free to share a few more details so we can point you in the right direction.
