Shopify to QBO forced migration - How are you guys surviving the VAT/Tax code and mapping mess?

Hi folks, I'm helping a friend's e-commerce store with their bookkeeping. Ever since QBO forced the new connector early this year, it's been a nightmare. It’s either syncing ex-VAT (messing up UK taxes), dropping SKUs, or dumping Shopify Payments and PayPal into the same wrong account.
I see reviews of people spending hours manually fixing line items. My question is: How are you currently handling this?
Are you just paying for expensive apps like A2X/Synder now?
Or did you hire a VA (Virtual Assistant) to manually fix the tax codes and bank mappings every week?
Has anyone found a lightweight, cheaper workaround just to fix the payment mapping or VAT issue?

How many orders do you receive per month? For up to 500 orders, you can use another connector for $35, compared to $52 for Synder.
