Question

Why are none of Wisconsin's counties in my agency button?

I just discovered that QB had not charged my customers county sales tax this year, just state tax.  I ended up having to pay the county tax out of my pocket.  When I try to add agency, there are NO Wisconsin counties in the drop down list.  Why?? I swear it calculated the taxes correctly in previous years.  Do I have to add every one manually??

Hi there, Amy, thank you for reaching out to the Community.

I’ll help you address your concern regarding Wisconsin counties not appearing in the agency dropdown in your sales tax settings.

To address this, manually paying the tax or adding each individually is a temporary workaround while Wisconsin is missing from your system. Normally, Wisconsin should appear as an agency in the dropdown menu. Since it’s not showing, try refreshing the page or logging out and back in to troubleshoot the issue.

If the problem persists, we recommend contacting QuickBooks Support to check this further:  QBO support hours. They’ll be able to check your account settings and provide additional assistance with your concern.

How to Contact Support:

  1. Click the Help menu or the (?) icon in the upper-right corner of QuickBooks Online.
  2. Go to the Assistant tab.
  3. Type "Contact Support" and press Enter.
  4. Provide a brief description of the concern and click Continue.
  5. Choose your preferred option: Have us call you or Chat.

If you have additional concerns about QBO, please reach out to us again. We're always here to help.
