Do not seem to be able to change header margin or much at all on layout

You can change the margins in the cog>custom form styles>edit>desgin>edit print settings

You then have the option of fit to window which will change margin or changing the page margins or user letter head paper which will take off the address and logo

You can edit margins in the layout designer ... DESIGN>EDIT PRINT SETTINGS (bottom left of screen).

If you want anything genuinely custom, you can create your template in Word & import as a docx.

It's a bit of trial & error to make sure it renders as you expect but gives a much more professional looking invoice than the standard.
