QuickBooks provide different ways to help manage your taxes and reflect how your business is doing. I'm here to further discuss the 20% tax of your invoice. 

 

We calculate estimated taxes for self-employed users with service-based businesses. We also calculate your federal quarterly payments for you.

 

To deduct tax of 20% on an invoice, you can enter the amount as negative. You can also create an item to represent the tax of 20%.

 

If you opt to change sales tax on invoices, there are two ways:

 

1. From Your work info: Changing sales tax on this page will not impact draft invoices unless you also change the sales tax on those draft invoices directly.
2. From the Invoice itself: Changing sales tax on the invoice will update the existing/current invoice, but not the Your work info set up.
