How do i see all my income in one place? It's migrated over from old soel trader to new so not in invoices

I migrated over from the old sole trader quickbooks which simply showed me all the income in one place. I'd enter it manually and attach my invoice as a document and log it as business income. I'd also do the same with my expenses. However in this new version which is far too detailed for my needs as a freelance writer, I can see my expenses quite clearly but nowhere can I see one place with all my income. What am I not doing right?

Hello Laura, are you referring to the widgets on your dashboard? QuickBooks changed the layout to focus on taxes and expense categorisation, which pushed your income view off the front page.

Since your home screen does not display all your income, you can generate a Profit and Loss report to view your total income.

Go to the Reports section in the left menu, then click on Standard reports and search for Profit and Loss. Set the specific reporting period you want. Next, toggle between the Cash or Accrual options in the Accounting method tab. If income transactions appear under the Cash option, it means you haven't linked the invoices yet. In this case, you can record the payments made for the invoice.

If you have missing transactions while running the report, you can check out this article to learn more about how to resolve the issue: Troubleshooting your Profit and Loss report.
