Question

I am self employed and have a small office. The system is not letting utility expenses be deductable. Can anyone help?

Hi there, @CJSDesigns

 

Welcome to the Community. To clarify, QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) is using the Simplified Expenses Method to calculate the deduction for you. 

 

If you use your home for self-employment work, make sure your Tax profile has been set up correctly so you can track your work-from-home deductions. 

 

To do this, go to the Gear icon, then select the Tax Profile. From there, Answer the necessary fields required to complete the setup. Then, click Save when done. For more information, check out this link: Set up your Tax Profile in QBSE
