Hi,

I run a cafe and take cash and card sales I do not use a point os sales system just a normal cash register, my question is how do I add my daily takings into sole trader plus? In quick books self employed I just added a transaction and entered it as cash sale but for the life of me I cannot find a transaction button on my homescrene to do this.

Can any one hp me please?.... Also how the hell do I see my previous year's accounts and transactions?  Have looked for a custom date setting but I cannot find it

Switching to a new layout can be tricky when familiar buttons aren't where you expect them to be. To log your daily cash and card sales in QuickBooks, you'll use a sales receipt instead of a standard transaction button.

Here's how to add your daily takings:

  1. Go to + Create and select Sales receipt.
  2. Select the customer from the dropdown menu.
  3. Choose a product or service.
  4. Edit the quantity or rate in the Qty and Rate fields.
  5. Fill out any other necessary fields and select Save.

To view your previous year's accounts and transactions, you can easily adjust your report period so you aren't stuck looking at just the current month.

Here's how to dig into the past:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Select Profit and Loss.
  3. Change the date filter at the top to Last Tax Year.
