Can i file a vat period manually thats already been filed with hmrc?

Welcome to the Community.

If you've already filed a period with HMRC and want to record this in QuickBooks, you can mark as filed once you've entered the transactions by going to Taxes > Select 'Prepare return' > Select the drop-down beside Submit to HMRC > Select 'Mark as filed'.

This will close off the filing period and open up the next period.
