Hi, I can see all my transactions but when I select taxes my self assessment is blank. Why is this

To start with, I recommend reviewing your Income Tax return estimate report in QBSE before checking your Self Assessment. This is to determine how much you owe HMRC and to see why your self-assessment is blank.

Here's how:

1. Go to the Taxes menu on the left panel.
2. Choose VAT.
3. Select the tax year you wish to view and click Got it. 

If you're still unable to view data from there, please know that QuickBooks computes an estimate of the amount payable to HMRC based on your categorised entries. The system then maps the categorised expenses instantly to the boxes listed in the Self-Assessment form. With this, I recommend categorising your transactions accurately so can see information instead of a blank on your Self Assessment.

If the problem continues to occur, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Self-Employed Support Team. They have the tools to pull up your account and investigate the cause of why your self-assessment is blank.
