Hi I don't need to do any invoicing, I need to use QuickBooks for logging my sales for a retail outlet plus logging expenses, vat ect . How do I set up this?

So it may be worth looking our QuiickBooks Online products, I appreciate that you do not need invoicing but you can add in sales,file VAT and log expenses in that product you can take out a trial for 30 days free or buy a subscription with a 6 month discount  here
