Let's take a look at why a certain VAT code isn't posting correctly to your VAT return.
The 20.0% ECS is one of many VAT codes already available in QuickBooks Online (QBO) after you finish setting up your tax in the Taxes tab. With that said, there's no need to create a custom VAT code. We only need to enable this VAT code so it will be available on your transactions.
Let me show you how:
Go to the Taxes tab.
Click the Edit VAT drop-down menu then select Edit rates.
Search for the 20.0% ECS VAT codeand enable it by toggling its button under the Action column.
