Once you're previously registered your vat details to QuickBooks, the option to turn this off is currently unavailable. However, you can set your tax rate to Out of Scope of Tax or No VAT so all your future transactions will default to it.
In changing your invoices' vat information, you need to manually open it to update its amount details. Let me guide you how.
Go to the Sales menu.
Select Invoices.
Locate the invoice you want to change.
Under the Actions column, click the drop-down arrow, then select View/Edit.
On the Amounts are section, select No Vat.
If prompted to confirm the modification of an invoice, select Yes.
Click Save or Save and close.
Once done, update your account settings. Here's how:
Go to the Gear icon.
Select AccountsandSettings.
Choose the Advanced menu.
Click anywhere in the Accounting section.
Select No VAT on the Default tax rate selection section.
Click Save, then Done.
I'd also suggest consulting your accountant to help you manage your transactions and be guided on how you can handle your vat/taxes.
Please let me know if there's anything I can help you with. Have a good day.
