Question

Setting up new company in QBO, but accidently started the 'set up VAT' (not VAT registered) and cannot get out of option...invoices have VAT details now. Help

Hi @maria-hutchinson,

 

I've got your back on this question about VAT in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

When you enable VAT in QBO, you're no longer able to turn it off. Since you mentioned that you aren't VAT registered and won't be using any VAT on your transactions, you can change the default tax rate to No VAT.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and settings
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. Tap the Accounting section.
  5. Search for Default tax rate selection, then set it to No VAT.
