You can generate the VAT Detail Report from the Reports page, Cwh01. By customizing the time period, you can retrieve data for previous quarters.

Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QBO account.
  2. Navigate to Reports, and enter VAT Details Report in the Type report name here tab.
  3. Modify the Report period to Custom, then adjust the date range tabs to display transactions from the previous quarter.

  4. You can further tailor the report. Once changes are made, click Run report to generate the updated data.

On the other hand, the VAT Exception Detail report is accessible through the Tax page within the VAT section. To acquire it, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Taxes in the left panel.
  2. Click on the VAT section.
  3. Locate the VAT Returns for the previous quarter, then click the dropdown arrow, and select View exception details.

  4. You'll be directed to the VAT Exception Report page. After reviewing, click Done to exit or Print if you need a hard copy.
