Hi All

can you please advise me how can I add VAT amount in each line in the sales invoice as per UAE FTA Article 59, full tax invoices are to be issued - line items have to show the tax value and net value.
I'm using QB online.

Thank you so much.

Hi Jyo2, thanks for joining us on the Community 🙂

Our UK product is designed in line with HMRCs VAT invoice requirements; it is not currently possible to show the VAT amount per line item, only the VAT code and item amount. You can, however, include a tax summary on the invoice footer which will display the total VAT amount and net amount per tax code. To enable this, select the Cog > Custom form styles > Edit > Content > Select the footer > Tick VAT summary.

Hi

You can edit the default style from the Custom form styles and show it according to the VAT decree law and its Executive Regulations in UAE just like the photo.

Unfortunately, the VAT amount and the amount including VAT aren’t working for us. I tried using the Airy New, Airy Classic, and Modern designs, but none of them worked

Thanks for sharing your experience, SuperStar777. In the International version of QuickBooks Online (QBO), invoice templates are designed to comply with global standards. While you can only display the VAT code and item amount per line item, you can utilize the Footer section to show the VAT summary, including the total VAT and net amount for each tax code.

Here's how you can do it:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Custom form styles.
  2. Locate the invoice template you want to modify and click Edit.
  3. Choose the Content tab, then go to the Footer section.
  4. Make sure to enable the VAT summary or GST summary option.
  5. Click Done

On the other hand, we encourage you to submit this valuable idea to our product engineers for consideration in future updates. To send your feedback, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon in the upper right and choose Feedback under Profile.
  3. Type in your recommendation in the Share your feedback field.
  4. Click Next to submit.

If you have additional VAT concerns or issues customising sales forms in QBO, let us know in the comments.

Hello, Robert.

Yes, this is possible if the third‑party app can be connected to QuickBooks Online. We can check the app to confirm it's compatibility. If it's not compatible, I recommend exploring another third-party apps that integrate with QuickBooks Online. For guidance on selecting a tool, consider reviewing the feedback from other users in the Reviews section for their experiences with the apps.

To find apps in QBO, you can follow these steps:

  1. In QuickBooks Online, click Apps.
  2. Click Find apps and enter a keyword in the Search field.
  3. Select an app that looks suitable.
  4. Click Get app now and follow the authorization steps.

Let us know if you have further questions, we'll be right here to help you anytime.
