Hi all,  I've been having some issues with payments brought in via my bank from Shopify - wondering if anyone else has any experience with this?Shopify charges per transaction and the fees are applied prior to payout, meaning that the transaction imported into quickbooks is after the fee has been charged. Therefore, I'm not able to report the proper percentage of VAT charged. I really don't want to have to manually amend every single sales receipt to show the original VAT value, and under scrutiny it will look like I've drawn the VAT values from nowhere! Can anyone advise on how best to manage VAT on transactions that have a fee deducted from them?

Hi all,A complete newbie and novice here on QuickBooks so please be gentle. I'm trying to add my HSBC account to my QB and all it wants to do is download the whole of the last years transactions. I only started as self employed yesterday and want my QB bank transactions to show from then only, otherwise I have nearly 700 transactions to categorise and that's not what I want to do.  Any idea if what I am trying to achieve is possible?Many Thanks.Matt.

We are trying to download transactions into Quickbooks UK Desktop from a UK HSBC Business Account.I have read ALL the instructions available, nothing works.I have been told by Quickbooks support that UK Desktop no longer supports Direct Connect bank feeds so have to use Web Connect by downloading a statement. Direct connect now only works with Quickbooks online version. Although the Quickbooks help file says it accepts a .QBO or .OFX web connect file, it will now only let me select a QBO file.HSBC UK will ONLY let me download transactions as a .OFX file, no QBO is available.Can I assume Quickbooks desktop can no longer import transactions from one of the biggest  (if not THE biggest) UK bank?I have tried a few on the 3rd party OFX to QBO converters, nothing works, it fails when it tries to verify with the bank although when I go through the 'set up banking feed' process in Quickbooks it seems to connect OK, then tells me to download the transactions which seems to be impossib
